Sciame is awarded High Line Section 3

Sciame was selected as the Construction Manager responsible for the third and final section of the High Line. The Eastern Rail Yard of the High Line runs from 10th Ave to just beyond 11th Avenue and will be an expansion of the previous phases and will extend the precast concrete planking , seating elements, metal railings and planting beds filled with grasses, flowers and plants – the elements  that define the High Line.

In addition, Eastern Rail Yards will feature a Beam Exploration Area where the concrete decking is removed which will allow visitors to walk and interact within the structural steel elements. The 11th Avenue Bridge will ramp up about two feet allowing elevated views up and down 11th Avenues, and a Grasslands Grove area features special plantings.

The Western Rail Yards, beginning just West of 11th Avenue, preserves the existing self-seeded landscape and allows visitors the opportunity of a direct experience of the grass and wildflowers that inspired the saving of this iconic park.
