Sciame was the Construction Manager responsible for the renovation of the Hugo Boss flagship store on Fifth Avenue. The retail space was designed to house all the label’s brands under one roof, with various levels being dedicated to specific brands. Providing for the customer experience, the scope included a café, an information kiosk and artwork being spread throughout the building. The core and shell for the project were for Newmark, the building’s owner, while the interior fit-out including the lighting and installation of artwork was for Hugo Boss AG. To meet the demands of the holiday shopping season, the entire project was completed in 14-weeks.
Construction challenges included the suspension of the mechanical equipment above a four-story space, the installation of limestone floors and complex lighting systems designed to illuminate the store’s interiors at night for after hour parties and special events.
