Sciame was the Construction Manager responsible for the $15 million expansion of the Major League Baseball Corporate office, which included an additional floor. The schedule driven nature of the project presented a variety of challenges. A new state-of-the-art conference floor needed to be completed and open for use within a five month schedule. Sciame was the chosen Construction Manager on this project to ensure that the schedule did not compromise the design intent of the architects Butler Rogers Baskett.
The project incorporated the use of finish ash and maple wood paneling, clear and back-painted tempered glass, woven leather and fabric wall paneling along with a mixture of terrazzo and wool carpeting for the floors.
The New Victory Theater – Originally built in 1900 as The Republic, the first performing arts venue on 42nd Street, the theater was transformed into The New Victory in 1995, becoming New York’s first theater for children and families. The renovation uncovered and restored original architectural elements, added a new lobby carved from the existing structure and bedrock, rebuilt the historic staircase, and created space for much-needed restrooms. A rear wing was added for backstage access, dressing rooms, workshops, and a loading dock, while new elevators and rooftop HVAC systems were integrated to meet modern needs of the historic theater.
