29 Jay Street

Sciame is the Construction Manager responsible for the full demolition of an existing mid-1970s low-rise warehouse and new construction of a 221,000 SF class-A commercial office tower located in Brooklyn’s historic DUMBO neighborhood, located one block from the East River and Brooklyn Bridge Park.

The entire site, situated at the intersection of Jay Street and Plymouth Street, requires excavating 16-to-18 feet below ground and up to 21 feet for the elevator pits.

The new 11-story reinforced concrete superstructure will incorporate geometric prefabricated gypsum fiber concrete facade panels with dramatically angled corners along with steel framed canopies and storefronts that encompass the nature of DUMBO’s character, combined with state-of-the-art 21st century technology.

The commercial building will offer over 12,000 SF of retail space on the ground floor and include a lower level and rooftop terrace that will provide tenants with a host of additional building amenities.
