Sciame was the Construction Manager responsible for the construction of this 130,000 SF luxury condominium project comprised of approximately 35 high end residences. The project was made up of two separate buildings: a new out-of-the-ground 65,000 SF building (412 Greenwich street) with an aluminum facade, as well as the complete renovation and restoration of an existing 65,000 SF landmark building with a historic masonry facade built in 1917 (401 Washington street).
The renovation of 401 Washington included significant modifications to portions of the existing structure in order to create new courtyard space, expanded basement space, as well as a new penthouse level. The Greenwich street building also includes retail space at the 1st floor.
We’re turning 50! As we count down to Sciame’s 50th anniversary on June 13th, we’re celebrating the moments that shaped us. For the next 50 days, we’ll be sharing one standout project a day in our “Countdown to 50”.
Thank you to our amazing clients, team, and friends! We wouldn’t be here without you.
Sciame is honored to have served as the construction manager for the expansion and refurbishment of The Frick Collection, working alongside Selldorf Architects and Beyer Blinder Belle to bring this vision to life. As the museum prepares to reopen next month, we’re pleased to see this project receive high praise in The New York Times from esteemed architecture critic Michael Kimmelman.
