Harvard Club of New York City

Sciame was the Construction Manager responsible for the construction and renovation of the Harvard Club of New York City. It consisted of a new 9-story addition as well as alterations to the original 1980’s clubhouse designed by McKim, Mead & White.

The new, mixed-use, custom concrete structure was constructed on a narrow site (50’ street frontage) adjacent to the existing club on West 44th Street, where two smaller buildings were demolished.

The building features a custom curtainwall, which integrates a limestone facade and floors of varying heights, to accommodate a range of functions. The new facilities include a main lobby and reception area, major kitchen facilities, a spacious banquet room for private events, a media room for conferences and presentations, two floors of guest rooms, an administrative office floor, and athletic facilities, including two international squash courts.

The project was completed via a challenging phased construction schedule to permit the Club to carry on its ongoing operations without disruption.

We’re turning 50! As we count down to Sciame’s 50th anniversary on June 13th, we’re celebrating the moments that shaped us. For the next 50 days, we’ll be sharing one standout project a day in our “Countdown to 50”.

Thank you to our amazing clients, team, and friends! We wouldn’t be here without you.
