Sciame was the Construction Manager responsible for the renovation of the lobby space and second floor in the office building housing
J.P. Morgan’s investment banking division.
The exterior portion of the lobby required the installation of 100 concrete bollards and a new canopy, which included a structural steel, miscellaneous steel, glass and stainless-steel cladding and features power, lighting and signage. The lobby renovation consisted of 14 new security turnstiles, new light fixtures (in the POPS, elevator and escalator area) and a Barrisol stretched fabric throughout the ceiling of the lobby. The stretched fabric system was fabricated in a frame with integral lighting, that called for sprinkler and HVAC work to facilitate the installation.
Demolition and renovation was required for portions of the second floor space, while keeping the entire building operational. The demolition included the removal of existing partitions, ceilings, flooring, sheet metal, piping, electrical and sprinkler devices. In addition, a new Starbucks was built and there was renovation work on an existing café, involving the relocation of MEP and new equipment, which features new kiosks and checkout counters. The second floor features a newly furnished lounge space and corridor.
