Sciame was the Construction Manager responsible for the construction of a 100,000 SF Medical and Graduate Education Building located at 106 Haven Avenue at West 171st Street in upper Manhattan.
The project included the demolition of the existing building, and the design and construction of a new transparent facade building whose principle design strategy was the Study Cascade. These social and study spaces are distributed across oversized landings along a 14-story stair. The building also houses lecture halls, computer and anatomy laboratories, learning and clinical simulation spaces, offices and event spaces.
The Roy and Diana Vagelos Education Center - New Medical and Graduate Education Building at Columbia University was awarded the 2017 Visionary Architecture Award by the Society of American Registered Architects New York Council #sarany.
