The Langham
Sciame was the Construction Manager responsible for the complete restoration of the building’s terracotta facade, marquee entrance and sidewalk areaway cast iron railings. The Langham at 135 Central Park West is a historic Clinton and Russell apartment building that was completed in 1907.
In keeping with the historic nature of the building the marquee restoration included the reinstallation of a long since destroyed glass frieze. Additionally, Sciame oversaw the complete replacement of the sidewalk, and the construction of additional tenant storage in the sub cellar.
One of the biggest challenges of this restoration was the requirement to preserve the tenant’s main entrance access throughout the duration of the project, and to minimize any obstructions to the tenants’ views of Central Park.

The Perelman Performing Arts Center will provide versatile layouts across three theater spaces, which can be combined to offer a range of seating configurations. Additionally, the venue will feature a lobby level complete with a bar, café, terrace, and stage.
