Sciame was the Construction Manager responsible for the construction of the most complex and high-end floors in Bear Stearn’s new headquarters building. The project involved multi-phased construction, strong coordination among multiple base building and interiors general contractors, and structural work that incorporated raked slabs within the 275-seat auditorium space and the stairway that links floors 12 and 13.
In addition to integrating an advanced audio/visual system in the state-of-the-art auditorium, Sciame was responsible for installing the entire audio/visual package into the 1,000,000 SF building. Specific spaces constructed were the corporate cafeteria, the executive office floor (including the suite for the Chief Executive Officer), the executive conference center, and the floor that houses the Boardroom, executive dining rooms, and meeting rooms.
We’re turning 50! As we count down to Sciame’s 50th anniversary on June 13th, we’re celebrating the moments that shaped us. For the next 50 days, we’ll be sharing one standout project a day in our “Countdown to 50”.
Thank you to our amazing clients, team, and friends! We wouldn’t be here without you.
Sciame is honored to have served as the construction manager for the expansion and refurbishment of The Frick Collection, working alongside Selldorf Architects and Beyer Blinder Belle to bring this vision to life. As the museum prepares to reopen next month, we’re pleased to see this project receive high praise in The New York Times from esteemed architecture critic Michael Kimmelman.
