Sciame was the Construction Manager responsible for the construction of this 8,500 SF renovation to create the NY Mets Hall of Fame Museum. It is adjacent to the Jackie Robinson Rotunda at the entrance to Citi Field in Flushing New York. A new storefront at the stadium’s facade allows the museum footprint to be increased by 1,000 SF.
The Hall of Fame houses artifacts and baseball memorabilia from the Mets’ history, as well as items on loan from the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Interactive audio and visual displays prominently display highlights of the Mets’ accomplishments. Including the relocation of the retail Team Store, the Hall of Fame retail space roughly doubles the retail space that was previously available. The project architect is POPULOUS (formerly HOK Sports), who was also the Architect for Citi Field.
Sciame is honored to have served as the construction manager for the expansion and refurbishment of The Frick Collection, working alongside Selldorf Architects and Beyer Blinder Belle to bring this vision to life. As the museum prepares to reopen next month, we’re pleased to see this project receive high praise in The New York Times from esteemed architecture critic Michael Kimmelman.
